5 Pet-Friendly Luxury Hotels Across America

  1. Mandarin Oriental: Miami, FL

  2. Fairmont Copley Plaza: Boston, MA

  3. The London West Hollywood at Beverley Hills: Los Angeles, CA

  4. The Ritz-Carlton: Chicago, IL

  5. Lodge at Spruce Peak: Vermont, NE

1. Mandarin Oriental

The first of our pet-friendly luxury hotels takes us to the sun-soaked South Florida coast. Five-star opulence follows you around the stunning resort, as do incredible ocean views.

Your pet-friendly stay at Mandarin Oriental is open to smaller pups (weighing under 25 lbs) and will cost $250 for your furry friend.

This fee is to cover cleaning costs, but $100 of that fee is in the form of a refundable deposit. So, keep it clean and you’ll get a good chunk of that outlay back.

While you’re not allowed to leave Fido in the room alone, there are a host of treats available when you arrive including dog beds and collapsable bowls.

If you prefer to get even further down the coast, then there are also a bunch of pet-friendly resorts in the Florida Keys area.

2. Fairmont Copley Plaza

Looking to score some luxury for you and your pet in Boston? Then look no further than Fairmont Copley Plaza.

Overlooking Copley Square, this opulent hotel enjoys a brilliant location in the heart of Beantown. Opened in 1912, the five-star destination is just minutes from local landmarks like Fenway Park and the Public Library.

However, we’re sure your pup will be more interested in the fact that there’s a brilliant dog park just across the street. Plus, welcome treats and a dog bed are available too.

The Fairmont offers a little more freedom to owners than the Mandarin Oriental, allowing up to 2 pets per stay and no limit on dog size. Each pet will cost $25 per night.

3. The London West Hollywood at Beverley Hills

The London West Hollywood didn’t feature in our list of pet-friendly resorts in the US. But it definitely warrants a spot on this, more opulent, countdown.

Welcoming two dogs person up to 20lbs each, there is a $100 fee for a pet stay at The London and you will also need to pay the $20 per pet, per night accommodation fee. But there’s a lot for dog lovers to like about this place.

The classically British interior design is contemporary and chic. Meanwhile, the hotel’s 2 English Bull Terrier mascots, Winston & Churchill, should give you an idea of what vibes to expect.

Located on the crossroads of Beverley Hills and Central Los Angeles, this five-star pup haven gives you every opportunity to get out and explore more of the area. If you fancy turning up the opulence, book their sprawling “Villa in the Sky” penthouse for endless views of the Hollywood Hills & L.A. skyline.

4. The Ritz-Carlton

Are you really counting down luxury hotels if you don’t include a Ritz-Carlton? An iconic name in high-end hotels, The Ritz-Carlton in Chicago welcomes furry visitors with large suites and nearby activities.

You’re allowed two pets under 50lbs at the Ritz-Carlton and staying with your pup will incur an additional $100 fee.

While the hotel does offer a selection of bars and restaurants, if you venture outside, Navy Pier is just a short walk away and offers the chance to explore even more eateries as well as shops and bars.

5. Lodge at Spruce Peak

Thinking of experiencing all the colors and magic of Fall in Vermont with your furry companion? The Lodge at Spruce Peak is the place for you.

Following a recent refurbishment, the accommodation at The Lodge is bright, contemporary, and spacious - perfect for inquisitive pups.

And you know what’s also great for the pups? The resort’s super welcoming pet policy!

It allows up to 2 100lb dogs per person. Plus, for a fee of $100 per night, your pooch can look forwards to a comfy bed and a chew toy on arrival.

Can You Leave Your Dog Alone in the Hotels?

You can leave your pup alone in the room at The London. However, most pet-friendly hotels in the US will not allow this.

But we should stress that we don’t recommend leaving your dog unattended in new spaces - like hotel suites.

The unfamiliar experience of traveling can be stressful enough for your pet, so it’s best to stay with them.
